Ingredients

  • 6 slices brioche bread thick-cut, slightly stale works best
  • 3 - eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk whole or any preferred milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional, for flavor
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon optional, for warmth
  • 2 tbsp butter for cooking
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup for serving
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries optional, for topping
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the egg mixture:

In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.

  2. Heat the pan:

Place a frying pan or skillet over medium heat and add a little butter to coat the surface.

  3. Soak the brioche:

Dip each slice of brioche into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak briefly so it absorbs some of the mixture but doesn’t become too soggy.

  4. Cook the brioche:

Place the soaked slices on the heated pan and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges. Remove and keep warm.

  5. Assemble the stack:

On a serving plate, stack the cooked brioche slices on top of each other to create a layered breakfast tower.

  6. Add toppings:

Drizzle with maple syrup, sprinkle powdered sugar, and add fresh berries on top for a colorful, delicious presentation.

  7. Serve immediately: Enjoy the stack warm for a rich, comforting, and indulgent breakfast experience.

Recipe Notes

Serving & Presentation

Serve the Brioche Sunrise Stack warm for the best taste and texture. Stack 2–3 slices of golden French toast on a plate to create a tall, visually appealing breakfast tower. Drizzle generously with maple syrup and sprinkle powdered sugar over the top for sweetness and a café-style look.

Add fresh berries like strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries for color, freshness, and extra flavor. For an extra indulgent touch, you can add a dollop of whipped cream or a few slices of banana. Serve immediately while the toast is warm and slightly crisp on the edges, so each bite is soft, buttery, and satisfying.
